Good Afternoon,
I recently saw the news that there would be a digital museum near the arctic center. Instead of having the
museum in a tucked away corner of the development what do you think about including that as part of
the community benefits for the angels stadium development?
I know that a youth sports complex has been brought up but I believe its a very poor use of space. You
have the Irvine Great Park that already allocated huge acreage to a sports park and the angels stadium
lot is much more land constrained. You also have many smaller parks scattered throughout the city that
has space for youth to play sports. To have a youth sports complex is not a good use of space in my
opinion.
I think a performing arts center or arts campus, including a museum would be a much better use of the
space and can be a good opportunity to enrich the lives of the youth in our community. Another benefit of
having it there is that we are very close to disneyland. They have the disney concert hall in los angeles but
the park is right here in Anaheim. Having a performance arts center right down the street from Disneyland
could provide a synergistic effect found nowhere else in the country. This not only makes people from
Disneyland more likely to go to the platinum triangle, but gives more exposure to Disneyland from people
visiting the OC Vibe and possible new Angels development.
To summarize, instead of a youth sports complex, I believe that a performing arts center would be a
better use of land and resources, both to make the new district more unique, and for providing a better
service to the public. The Performance Arts center or the museum could provide free tickets to people
under 18 or could even collaborate with local schools to educate students in the classical arts. Thank
you for your time and have a good day.
