For public comment on September 29, 2026: Mayor Aitken, you have had plenty to say about residents who come before this Council. You told us we were the disinformation brigade. You interrupted us repeatedly when we brought our concerns to this podium. You even told my wife that she should be embarrassed. Embarrassed about what, exactly? For showing up? For telling you how to do your jobs better? For pointing out governance failures that residents can see with their own eyes? Maybe instead of attacking the residents who come here week after week, this Council should ask why they keep having to come back. Anaheim seems to operate in a constant state of chaos. Enough. Do the work you were elected to do. Deal with the City's problems. Demand answers. Hold people accountable. But how can you possibly do that when the highest elected official in this City is facing allegations of racist and homophobic remarks? These aren't insignificant allegations. They strike directly at the Latino and LGBTQ communities you were elected to represent. And the Mayor didn’t immediately deny the racial slur or homophobic comments. But changed her tune a few days later. That’s not suspicious at all. 1 The tone established at the top of an organization travels downward. And when the City's highest elected official is facing allegations this serious, residents have every right to ask what kind of culture exists underneath her. Meanwhile, residents are watching scandal after scandal consume City Hall while the actual business of Anaheim still has to get done. So stop attacking residents for pointing out the problems. The residents aren't creating the chaos by talking about it. Our job is to hold you accountable. Your job is to govern. So enough with the Council Communications known as show-and-tell. Enough with the excuses. Do the work. And Ashleigh, if these allegations turn out to be true, I assure you, we will ALL be embarrassed that you used to be our Mayor. 2
