A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO7NCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTIK; THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL, HIII:',HWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF EAST STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve
East Str from Sycamore Street
to_uprox. 140 feet south of Turin Avenue ;and
WHEREAS, East Street is an important
artery in the County of Orarge and of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to ary City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
priate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1965 a sum of
money for the improvement of streets withit the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with tAe Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City
from County Funds the amount of _J/6
amount to be matched by furds from said CIFT be said
said City in the improvement of East Street
from Sycamore Street
140 feet south of Turin Avenue
to approx.
and for the acquisi-
tion of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition
of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project
statement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work
and acquisition of rights of way OP East Street 3
in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this resolution, the City
of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways
Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost
of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal
year 1965
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, Califor-
nia, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commis-
sioner, 400 West 8th Street, Santa Ana, California.
