OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF KATELLA AVENUE
RESOLUTION NCL 64R
K OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve
Katella Avenue from Haster Street
to_approx. OM feet east of Lewis Street
;and
WHEREAS, Katella Avenue is an important
artery in the Courty of Orarge and of ger.eral County interest; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expencrfunds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
priate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1965 a sum of
money for the improvement of streets goithit the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance Lt the Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the Cl_tâ– , of Anaheim hereby requests the Board
of Supervisors of the Couilty of Orange to allocate to said City
from Courty Funds the amount of ?43 250.00 said
amount to be matched by furds from said City, ETseIrga to aid
said City in the improvement of Katella Avenue
from Haster Street to approx.
1330 Street and for the acquisi-
tion of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition
of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project
statement.
BE 11 FURTXER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work
and acquisition of rights of way on Katella Avenue
in the manner provided, is in the gpneral County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this resolution, the City
of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways
Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost
of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal
year 1965
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, Califor-
nia, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commis-
sioner, 400 West 8th Street, Sarta Ana, California.
