A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA WITH REFERENCE TO THE CONSTRUCTION
AND MAINTENANCE OF A TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL
SYSTEM AND HIGHWAY LIGHTING AT THE INTERSEC-
TION OF SANTA ANA STREET- WESTPORT DRIVE WITH
STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 07 -ORA -250 3.6 (STATE
COLLEGE BOULEVARD).
WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate the joint installation of a traffic control
signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of Santa
Ana Street Westport Drive with State Highway Route 07 -Ora -250 3.6
(State College Boulevard), within the City of Anaheim, and desire
to enter into an agreement specifying the proportionate
of the costs that are to be borne by the City and State and
providing for the maintenance thereof; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted to the
City Agreement #1774 providing for the installation of said
traffic control signal system and highway lighting, specifying
the proportionate share of the costs to be borne by the City and
State and arranging for the maintenance thereof, as more parti-
cularly set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
the benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with the State and that the same should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Agreement #1774 submitted to the
City by the State of California, providing for the installation
of a traffic control signal system and highway lighting at the
intersection of Santa Ana Street Westport Drive with State High-
way Route 07 -Ora -250 3.6 (State College Boulevard), within the
City of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions and for the
proportionate share of the costs set forth therein, be and the
same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director be
and he is he:eby authorized and directed to:
(a) Pay the City's share of the costs of construction of
said traffic control signal system and highway light-
ing, as provided in said agreement estimated to be
$12,100, the actual amount of the City's share to
be determined after award and completion of the con-
struction contract; and
(b) Reimburse State for City's proportionate share of
the cost of general maintenance and operation of
said equipment in the manner provided in that Agree-
ment for Maintenance of State highways in the City
which is in effect at the time said costs arise, as
provided in said Agreement #1774.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
