A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPLOVING AND AUTHORIZING THh EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND ASTRODATA, INC. WITH REFERENCE TO
THE DEPUTIZING OF EMPLOYEES OF ASTRODATA, INC.
AS POLICE OFFICERS OF THE CITY TO DIRECT
TRAFFIC.
WHEREAS, Astrodata, Inc. has located an industrial
plant within the corporate limits of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, Astrodata, Inc. employs a large number of
people in che operation of its plant which is located near the
intersection of East Palais Load and Anaheim Boulevard; ad
WIILLEAS, Anaheim Boulevard becomes congested with
employees of Astrodata, Inc. who are goihg to and from work; and
WHEREAS, some traffic control is needed to alleviate
traffic congestion caused by the employees of Astrodata, Inc.
going to and from work by way of the intersection of Last Palais
Road and Anaheim Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to use personnel of Astrodata,
Inc. to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing the in-
tersection of Last Palais Road and Anaheim Boulevard and to have
such personnel deputized by the City of Anaheim as officers of
the Anaheim Police Department for the purpose of investing them
with adequate and legal authority to direct traffic at that
location; and
WHEREAS, Astrodata, Inc. has submitted to the City an
agreement, dated March 9, 1965 to be made and entered into
between the City and said Astrodata, Inc., providing for the
deputizing of employees of Astrodata, Inc. as police officers
of the City for the purpose of directing traffic at the inter-
section of East Palais Road and Anaheim Boulevard, upon the terms
and conditions therein set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the terms and
conditions of said agreement are satisfactory and that the same
should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement dated March 9, 1965, this
day submitted to the City Council, to be made and entered into
between the City of Anaheim and Astrodata, Inc., providing for
the deputizing by the City of such employees of Astrodata, Inc.
as it wishes to have deputized as police officers of the City
for the purpose of directing traffic entering, leaving and
traversing the intersection of Last Palais Road and Anaheim
Boulevard, upon the terms and conditions set forth in said agree-
ment, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk. be
and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and
on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
