A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING A "NO PARKING" ZONE
ON LINCOLN AVENUE IN THE VICINITY OF 2310
WEST LINCOLN AVENUE, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, a request has been made by Mr. E. D. Swain
to extend the existing 'No Parking" zone on the south side of
Lincoln Avenue in front of the Gemco Department Store to his
west driveway, a distance of 72 feet; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways of the State of
California has, by letter dated February 18, 1965, advised the
City Engineer that the results of its investigation indicate
that it would be desirable to prohibit parking on the south
side of Lincoln Avenue beginning at a point 200 feet west of
the center line of Monterey Street extended, and extending 75
feet west thereof; and
WHEREAS, Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code of the
State of California authorizes the City Council to restrict or
prohibit parking on a state highway if the resolution is first
submitted to and approved, in writing, by the Department of
Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways has requested that
the prohibition of parking shall be inoperative six months after
withdrawal of the approval of the Department of Public Works.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that parking be prohibited at all times on
the south side of Lincoln Avenue, beginning at a point 200 feet
west of the center line of Monterey Street extended, and extend-
ing 75 feet west thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall go
into immediate effect upon approval, in writing, by the Depart-
ment of Public Works of the State of California, and that said
prohibition of parking and this resolution shall cease to be
effective six months after receipt by the City Council of
written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of
Public Works of the State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 9th day of March, 1965.
