A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM DENYING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT NO. 606
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a request for a Conditional Use Permit from
HAZEL M. POWELL, 16351 Fellows Drive, Orange, California, to
establish a tower restaurant, with observation deck and lounge,
of a maximum height of 760 feet, on the following described
property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California, to wit:
The East 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the South-
west 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 27, Township 4
South, Range 10 West, partly in the Rancho San Juan Cajon
de Santa Ana and partly in the Rancho Las Bolsas, as
shown on a map recorded in book 51, page 10 of Miscel-
laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California.
Excepting therefrom that portion described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the North 1/2 of the
North 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of
said Section 27; thence South along the East line of said
North 1/2, a distance of 50 feet; thence West at right
angles with said East line 50 feet; thence North at right
angles with said last mentioned line and parallel with
said East line 50 feet to a point in the North line of
said North 1/2; thence East along the North line of said
North 1/2 a distance of 50 feet to the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon
said request on September 14 1964 notices of which
said public hearing were duly given as required by law and the
provisions of Title 18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, in-
vestigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and
after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at
said hearing, did adopt its Resolution No. 1336 Series
19 denying Conditional. Use Permit No. OMF
and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty -two (22) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal
was filed with the City Council protesting the action of the
City Planning Commission in denying said Conditional
Use Permit and said appeal was set for public hearing on

October 20 19 64 at the City Hall, in the City
of Anaheim, and notices of such public hearing were duly given
as required by law and the provisions of Title 18, Chapter
18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an oppor-
tunity to be heard and did receive evidence and reports; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find, after careful
consideration of the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission and all evidence and reports offered at said hear-
ing, that Conditional Use Permit No. 606 should be denied.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Com-
mission denying Conditional Use Permit No. 606 be,
and the same is hereby sustained and that the request of
HAZEL M. POWELL for a Conditional Use Permit to permit the
establishment of a tower restaurant with observation deck and
lounge, of a height of 760 feet, on the property hereinbefore
described, be, and the same is hereby denied.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 26th day of January 1965
