RESOLUTION NO. 65R- 538
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY
COMMISSION TO PERMIT THE CONNECTION OF ORANGE-
WOOD AVENUE BETWEEN RASTER STREET AND STATE
COLLEGE BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of Califor-
nia have heretofore entered into a Freeway Agreement dated
February 4, 1964 relating to that portion of the Santa Ana Free-
way, State Highway Road VII -ORA -174 -A (now designated 7- ORA -5)
between the Fullerton Anaheim City limits at Houston Street and
the Anaheim Orange City limits near State College Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Anaheim to
open and improve Orangewood Avenue on the westerly and easterly
sides of the Freeway in accordance with the Master Plan of
Arterial Streets and Highways of the City of Anaheim as soon as
same is practicable; and
WHEREAS, Sections 100.2 and 100.3 of the Streets and
Highways Code require the approval of the California Highway
Commission, by Resolution, in order to permit additional cross-
ings of declared Freeway routes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the California Highway Commission, pur-
suant to authority vested in it by law, be, and it is hereby
requested to permit the connection of Orangewood Avenue, between
Haster Street in the City of Anaheim and State College Boulevard
in the City of Anaheim, including provision for a future separated
crossing at the Route 5 Freeway.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 13th day of July, 1965.
