ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON
VENLENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
CONSTRUCTION OF A MASONRY BLOCK WALL AT LA PALMA
PARK IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. JOB NO 891

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
F LCATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim,, to wit:
The construction of a masonry block wall 7 feet in
height and approximately 422 feet in length at the
east end of the football field in La Palma Park, in
the City of Anaheim, including P.C.C. foundation,
reinforcement, and appurtenant work as more parti-
cularly set forth in the plans and specifications
on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City
Engineer, Job No. 891.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works Department to prepare detailed ds gns,
pans, profi e anspecifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Department has
prepared said detailed •esigns, p ans, pro es, •rawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim tat the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinabove me°r.: t: cfn ed and described, be and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works De artment
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE that said public improve-
ment sh 11 be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works De artment and hereby
approved, and such added,a or modi ic t ons thereto as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED th.tt the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, ,:,nd she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to 1,:,w, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, :nd all utilities a,rd tr.nsportatibn, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, is a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accord:,nce with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings nd specifications as prepared by said Public
Works De artment the public improvement hereinabove
mentioned an aescri ed, and f xirs the 8th d y of
Jul 19 65 at the hour of 2g00 o'clock P.M. as
t e to an oar 117F e opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in t he City of Anaheim, and
that said notice shall be published trice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten 40) days prior to the date
fixed for the cpening of bids, and that said public:
sh 11 be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall, be required to enter into a contract
with the City af Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
inst;:llation and compietior, of said public improvement herein
above mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said Public Works De artment
the not :ice inviting sealed proposals, this reso ution an al
applicable City Ordinances or C Sections :and the 1 ws of the
State of California, and shah, be required to post bonds and
insurance .i the amou°;..ts and within the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviving sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
