A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE BALL ROAD STREET IMPROVEMENT FROM APPROXI-
120 FEET WEST OF KNOTT AVENUE APPROXI-
FEET WEST OF OTT AVENUE IN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM PROJECT NO. 153

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECK
F:CCATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The Ball Road Street Improvement, from approxi-
mately 120 feet west of Knott Avenue to approxi-
mately 1340 feet west of Knott Avenue, in the
City of Anaheim, consisting of clearing and
grubbing, excavation, haulaway and disposal;
construction of asphalt concrete pavement,
aggregate base, P.C.C. curb and gutter, P.C.C.
driveways, P.C.C. sidewalk; application of prime
coat; installation of paddle boards, and red-
wood headers; removal of miscellaneous highway
facilities; adjustment of manholes and water
valve boxes to grade, and appurtenant work as
more particularly set forth in the plans and
specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer, Project No. 153.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works Department to prepare detailed es gns,
p ans, pro I es, arawings an specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works De.artment has
prepared said detailed esigns, p ans, pro. es, •raw ngs and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW, I'HEREFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinab „ve Ter, ticed and described, be nd the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works Department
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that s...id public improve-
ment sh.-11 be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawir s and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works Department and hereby
approved, and such addenda or modi icat ons thereto as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transp•- rtation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accord.nce with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings r;.nd specifications as prepared by said Public Works
Department the public improvement hereinabove
mentioned an descries, and fixing the 1st day of
Jul y 19 65 at the hour of 2g00 o'clock P.M. as
hee, date and hoer r t e opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
that said notice shall he published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least to (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said public:
shall be :t least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
with the City of Anaheim it the manner aid form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and comp1etior, of said public improvement herein
bove mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said Public Works De artment
the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution an all
applicable City Ordinances or Code: Sections and the 1 w of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the amou:As and `4it in the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
