A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT TO WIT:

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The improvement of East Street, from Orangethorpe
Avenue to approximately 500 feet north of River-
side Freeway, in the City of Anaheim, consisting
of clearing and grubbing, excavation,haulaway
and disposal; construction of asphalt concrete
pavement, aggregate base, P.C.C. curb and gutter;
adjustment of water valve boxes, manhole and
traffic detector to grade; removal and replace-
ment of P.C.C. spandrel; relocation of commercial
sign; application of prime coat; and appurtenant
work as more particularly set forth in the plans
and specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer, Project No. 150.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works De artment to prepare detailed 3esigns,
pans, pro i. es, ravings an specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Department has
prepared said detailed .esigns, p ans, pro es, .rawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Ananebrn that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for s: -.id public improve-
ment hereinabove me%tioned nd described, be and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works De artment
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works De artment and hereby
approved, and such adderid,a, or mods icat ons thereto as may be
approved prior to the awrdisrg cf bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accordnce with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
dr:.:wings sad specifications as prepared by said Public
Works Department the public improvement herein bove
mentioned am d escriBed, and fixing the 1st day of
July 19 65 a at the hour of 200 o'clock P.M. as
t� d. to and Tor r or t e opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least tea (10) day prior to the date
fixed for the cperri.ng of bids, and that said public tions
shall be t least five (5) days apart
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a c ntract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and completion of said public improvement herein
ab.'ve entioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
the notice inviting sealed proposals, this reso ution an al
applicable City Ordinances or Ccde Sections and the 1 ws of the
State of Califoreia, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
as specified is the notice, inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FORECOINC RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 8th day of June 19 65
