A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN CITY RECORDS MORE THAN FIVE (5) YEARS
OLD.
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has requested authority
to destroy certain records in his office more than five (5)
years old which are no longer required by said Department, more
particularly hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that said
records are no longer required for the rendition of proper and
adequate public service; and
WHEREAS, it further appears that said records occupy
space urgently needed for other and more recent records which
are rapidly accumulating; and
WHEREAS, the written consent of the City Attorney of
the City of Anaheim to the destruction of the records herein-
after mentioned and described has been submitted to the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that none
of the records hereinafter mentioned affect the title to real
property or constitute liens thereon, or constitute court
records, or constitute records required to be kept by statute
or are less than five (5) years old, or constitute Minutes,
Ordinances, or Resolutions of the City Council of the City of
Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Douglas K. Ogden, Finance Director of
the City of Anaheim, be and he is hereby authorized to destroy
the following described City records in his possession and under
his control, to wit:
Paid ledger cards:
Burroughs (system) 1955 to September, 1958.
NCR ledger stubs September, 1958 to January, 1960.
Meter Books dated prior to January, 1960.
Miscellaneous receipts and records in small
quantities, dated prior to January, 1960.
Warrants and Demands from 1935 up to 1960.
Payroll Checks dated prior to January, 1960.
Personal property tax receipts (year 1950).
Reports and Tax Statements 1941 to 1949.
Miscellaneous receipts (year 1951).
Building permits (year 1940).
Assessment records (1937 -38).
State Compensation injury reports (year 1945).
