A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERGROUND REINFORCED CON-
APPROXI TELY FEET EAST OF LEWI
IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, WORK QRDER NO. 1845,
A PPROVING THE DESIGN P S, PROFIL S, D WINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
Construction of one reinforced concrete, traffic
bearing, underground pressure regulator vault,
Vault No. 16, for existing water main, complete
in place, in Orangewood Avenue approximately
222.85 feet east of Lewis Street, in the City of
Anaheim, including all necessary excavation,
backfill, flooding, A.C. resurfacing, haulaway
and disposal, and appurtenant work as more
particularly set forth in the plans and speci-
fications on file in the Office of the City
Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. 1845.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works De artment to prepare detailed asigns,
plans,profiles,drawingsand. specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Department has
prepared said detailed .esigns, p ans, pro es, .rawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THERE.F'CRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City .••f Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinabove me t:ic-red and described be nd the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works De artment
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED th,7.t said public improve-
ment siv:11 be corxstr°u� t.ed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles. drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works Department and hereby
approved, and such addenda or moth ications thereto as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to 1;aw, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all planet, labor, services, materials and
equipment, ;..nd all utilities an trnsportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, la a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accord nce with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings nd specifications as prepared by said Public
Works De artment the public improvement Tiereinabove
mention an descri ed, and fixing the 3rd day of
June 19 65 at the hour of 2“30 o'clock P.M. as
t e to T &Jr f ET t e opening of said bids t the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall:, in the City of Anaheim, and
that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
shall be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and comp;1etior, of said public improvement herein
above mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said Public Works De artment
the notice inviting ,sealed proposals, this reso ution an all
applicable City Ordinances or Cede Sections and the 1 w of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the amouts and within the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
