1965-708A RESOITiiON OF 'THE CI'T'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FIND'ING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON- VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC 'IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT THE IMPROVEMENT OF LA PALMA AVENUE, FROM EAST TO PAULINE STREET CITY N M, PROJECT NO. 128. RESOLUTION NO. 65R -708 IPPRWTO P S, P'OFILES, D .WINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM- PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the onstruction and completion of a public improvement in the City of Anaheim, to wit o The improvement of La Palma Avenue, from East Street to Pauline Street, in the City of Anaheim, consisting of excavation, including compacted embankment, haulaway and disposal; construction of asphalt concrete pavement, aggregate base, P.C.C. curb, and curb and gutter; standard catch basin No. 1; 30 -inch corrugated metal pipe; 18 -inch reinforced' metal pipe; P.C.C. sidewalk and center line monuments; P.C.C. cross gutter; P.C.C. curb return; import borrow compacted in place; application of prime coat; removing plug in R.C.B.; connect to C.B.; removal of existing highway facilities; repair R.C.B.; salvage and relocation of chain link fence; adjustment of manholes and water valve boxes to grade; installation of paddle boards, and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Project No. 128. AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public Works Department to prepare detailed esigns, pari.s`, profiles, drawings` a and estimates of quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con- struction of said public improvement; and WHEREAS, said Public Works Deartment has prepared said detailed c e i p ans, pro. es, •'rawings and specifications for the construction of said public improvement and' has submitted the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi- dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of said public i.npr ovement and should be approved. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve- ment hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public Works De.artment AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED th;t s:id public improve- ment sh,.11 be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said Public Works De artment and hereby approved, and such addenda or modi icat ons thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor. BE IT k "URTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized nd directed to publish a notice according to 1 ;w, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and tr.nsportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings nd specific:.,.tions as prepared by said Public Works Department the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, and fixing the 14th d y of October 19 65 b at the hour of 200 o'clock P.M. as the dte and hour fUrEIR e opening of said bids at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which publications shall be -.,t least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said public: shall be at lera.st five (5) days -part. ATTEST AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and completion of said public improvement herein above mentioned ;.:nd described, in accordance with the plans and specifications prep red by said Public Works Department the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the 1 w of the State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
