A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE COUNTY ROAD DEPART-
MENT AND ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF COLLINS
AVENUE.
WHEREAS, Orange County Flood Control District owns
certain property located generally at the southeasterly corner
of the Katella Avenue Collins Avenue intersection and westerly
of the Santa Ana River, in Orange County, California; and
WHEREAS, vehicular access to this property and adjoin-
ing properties of other owners is available only via Collins
Avenue, a City street, presently unimproved; and
WHEREAS, Orange County Flood Control District and
adjoining property owners desire that Collins Avenue be improved
within the City limits, and the City of Anaheim has an obligation
to participate therein; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Road Department intends to
award a contract in the near future for widening and other work
on Katella Avenue in the vicinity of the Collins Avenue inter-
section and it would be in the best interests of the City of
Anaheim, Orange County Road Department and Orange County Flood
Control District to improve Collins Avenue as part of the County
Road Department's proposed Katella Avenue project; and
WHEREAS, Orange County Flood Control District has
tendered to the City an agreement, numbered MS65Y01 -194, to be
made and entered into between the parties, providing for the
improvement of Collins Avenue as part of the County Road Depart-
ment's Katella Avenue project, upon the terms and conditions and
for the proportionate costs as set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the terms and
conditions of said agreement are fair and reasonable and that
said agreement should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Agreement No. MS65Y01 -194 tendered to
the City by Orange County Flood Control District to be made and
entered into by and between the City of Anaheim, Orange County
Road Department and Orange County Flood Control District, pro-
viding for the improvement of Collins Avenue from Katella Avenue
southerly to the City boundary line, and for the construction
of a 24 -foot wide drive from the City boundary southerly to
Orange County Flood Control District s property line, upon the
terms and conditions and for the proportionate costs as set
forth in said agreement, be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director be,
and he is hereby, authorized to pay to Orange County Flood
Control District, within 30 days after billing, an amount equal
to one -half of the total cost of the Collins Avenue improvement
within the City limits, said total cost to be determined as set
out in said agreement and estimated to be $7,688.00.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 10th day of August, 1965.
