A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE SOUTH STREET STORM DRAIN, IN VERMONT AVENUE,
EAST STREET, SANTA ANA STREET ASP SOUTH STREET,
IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, JOB NO, 5019, PHASE 1.
APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The South Street Storm Drain, in Vermont Avenue from Avacado
Street to East Street, in East Street from Vermont Avenue to
Santa Ana Street, in Santa Ana Street from East Street to Haven
Drive, and in South Street from East Street to Barnett Street,
in the City of Anaheim, consisting of construction of 72, 45,
42, 39, 33 and 30 -inch mainline R.C.P. and 30, 24, 21 and 18 -inch
lateral R.C.P. manholes, junction structures, brick and mortar
bulkheads, including tight sheeting, trench resurfacing and
appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in the plans
and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or
City Engineer, Job No. 5019, Phase 1.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works Department to prepare detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said ublic Works Dep$ went has
prepared said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereindbove mentioned nd described, be and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
W orks Devartment
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED th said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings ;:end specifications as
prepared by s Public Works De artment and hereby
approved, and such addenda or mo i icat ons t ereto as may be
approved prior to the aw arding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of An be, ..nd she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to 1w, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications as prep red by said Public Works
Department the public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, and fixing the 13th day of
.Ta uary 9 19 66 the hour of 200 o'clock P.M. as
the date and hour f or the opening of said bids at the City
Council Cha ber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall. be .:.t least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
shall be at 1e.,.st five (5) days -part.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into contract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and completion of said public improvement herein
above mentioned .:nd described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said
the notice inviting sealed proposals, t is reso.ution an a
applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
State of Californir._, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the, amounts and within the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 21st day of December 19 65
