A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH YORBA LINDA
COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, ENTITLED "AGREEMENT
FOR EXTENSION AND INTER CONNECTION OF WATER
SYSTEM."
WHEREAS, City of Anaheim and Yorba Linda County Water
District both operate water facilities in the northeast portion
of Orange County and serve inhabitants and lands substantially
adjoining; and
WHEREAS, the City has an urgent need to supply water
to an area within its boundaries and adjoining said Water
District where there is presently no economic source of water
other than through said Water District's system; and
WHEREAS, said Water District and the City have co-
operated in the past and desire to continue in the future full
cooperation in the mutual solution to varying problems, and have
legal authority to contract concerning the exercise of joint
powers; and
WHEREAS, said Water District's system will have to be
extended approximately fourteen hundred feet in order to assist
the City, and said Water District does not presently have the
funds to make this extension in order to assist the City; and
WHEREAS, the City and said Water District desire to
cooperate in supplying water to said area and to enter into an
agreement authorizing the City to proceed with the construction
of said water line extension, at an estimated cost of $12,894.28;
providing for the reimbursement to the City of said costs by
said Water District; for the sale and delivery of water to the
City by said Water District; and setting forth the terms and
conditions of said construction of water line and said furnishing
and sale of water; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement, entitled "Agreement for
Extension and Inter connection of Water System," containing the
provisions, terms and conditions above mentioned, has this day
been submitted to the City Council to be made and entered into
between the parties, which agreement the City Council finds
would be for the benefit and best interest of the City and should
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted to the
City Council to be made and entered into between the City of
Anaheim and Yorba Linda County Water District, entitled 'Agree-
ment for Extension and Inter connection of Water System," be,
and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
