1965-884WHEREAS, the Childrens Hospital of Orange County
will benefit from the first baseball game to be played in
the Anaheim Stadium, new home of the Angels, on the 9th
day of April, 1966; and
WHEREAS, this exhibition game between the Cali-
fornia Angels and the San Francisco Giants will mark an
outstanding step forward in baseball history in Orange
County; and
WHEREAS, the Childrens Hospital of Orange County
deserves the support of all citizens and will receive one-
half of the proceeds of its ticket sales for this first
game; and
WHEREAS, this City Council deems it to be in
the best interest of the City that this noteworthy event
be accorded general endorsement and support;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim that the Childrens Hospital
of Orange County Benefit Game, marking the opening of the
Anaheim Stadium, new home of the Angels, is hereby endorsed
and commended by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
and all residents are hereby urged to join in support of
this project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
