A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION ENDORSING A PROPOSAL FOR SENIOR
CITIZEN HOUSING AND URGING THE DEPARTMENT
OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO APPROVE
SAID PROPOSAL.
WHEREAS, there exists in the City of Anaheim a
pressing need for housing for low and moderate income
senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, Shapell Government Housing, Inc., is
proposing to develop 100 units of senior citizen housing
with Section 8 New Construction Assistance Grants under
the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project is located within
an area of a particularly high concentration of senior
citizens having low incomes; and,
WHEREAS, the site of said housing is adjacent to
a heavily - utilized city -owned senior citizen center and
will be an integral part of the Village Center, which is
the first phase of the redevelopment of Downtown Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Community
Development Commission strongly endorses said proposal and
urges the Department of Housing and Urban Development to
approve said project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 25th day of November 1975.
