ARA 82 -48 A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR DEMOLITION AND CLEARANCE OF CERTAIN AGENCY PROPERTIES. (D 82 -13) WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency did cause to be published in a newpaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: the Anaheim Bulletin, on the 16th and 23rd days of August, 1982 a notice inviting sealed proposals for demolition and site clearance of the following Agency properties, to wit: TTRM Mn_ STREET ADDRESS AGENCY BLOCK /PARCEL 1. 310 West Cypress Street 2. 249 -2592 East Old Lincoln Avenue (76 South Emily Street) 3. 110 -114 East Old Lincoln Avenue 4. 120 -122 East Old Lincoln Avenue 5. 124 -126 East Old Lincoln Avenue 6. 130 East Old Lincoln Avenue 7. 132 East Old Lincoln Avenue 2/2 7/6* 19/3* 19/4* 19/5* 19/6* 19/7* *Any existing basement wall adjacent to Old Lincoln Avenue is excluded and not a part of this contract. Designated as Contract No. D 82 -13. in accordance with the specifications on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Agency; and WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said demolition and clearance did provide that sealed proposals would be received by the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency at the Office of the Secretary to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency up to the hour - 1 - of 2 :00 o'clock P.M. on the 2nd day of September , 1982, for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to complete in a good and workmanlike manner, the demolition and clearance hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, and which notice did state and declare that pursuant to the provisions fo Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency had ascertained the prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be performed for each craft or type of workman or mech- anic needed to execute the contract, and which wage scale is on file in the Offices of the Secretary of the Agency; and WHEREAS, the Secretary of the Agency did receive the following sealed proposals prior to 2 :00 o'clock P.M. on the 2nd day of September, 1982, in response to the notice aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit: NAME TOTAL PRICE VIKING EQUIPMENT . . . . . . . . . $11,900.00 G. ROWE . . . . . . . . . . . . $18,636.00 HINTZ WRECKING . . . . . . . . . . $22,300.00 AMERICAN DEMOLITION. . . . . . . . $23,500.00 THREE D SERVICE. . . . . . . . . . $27,250.00 A -1 LAND CLEARING .. . . . . . . . $37,900.00 ROBERT TAYLOR. . . . . . . . . . . $39,845.00 WHEREAS, the Agency Representative did thereupon examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency the result of his examination and tabulation; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency finds that the sealed proposal submitted by Viking Equipment Corporation 5303 San Fernando Road, West Los Angeles, California 90039 is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water and performing all work necessary to complete in a good and work- manlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications therefor on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Agency, the demolition and clearance hereinabove mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances thereto, and as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and that said proposal of said above -named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidder in accordance therewith; and MW WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency finds that the above - mentioned sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal received and that the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a responsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal submitted is the best suited and fitted for the demolition and clearance to be undertaken. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency that the sealed proposal submitted by said contractor for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equip- ment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications therefor on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency and the notice inviting sealed proposals, the demolition and clearance hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances thereto, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract for the completion of said demolition and clearance be, and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above- mentioned bidder. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth, shall be, and they are hereby required to execute a contract in the re- quired form with the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency upon the terms and conditions specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals and the proposal submitted by said successful bidder or bidders and in accordance with the specifications for said demolition and clearance hereinabove described, and in accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution, and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom each contract is awarded shall be required to furnish a surety bond in the amount of SIXTY THOUSAND AND 00 /100 DOLLARS ($60,000.00) for all labor, materials and equipment to be furnished and performed, as set forth in the sealed proposal submitted by said bidder for the demolition and clearance, together with the appurtenances thereto or such portion thereof as is covered by said contract, as security for the faith- ful performance of said contract, and a separate surety bond in the amount of SIXTY THOUSAND AND 00 /100 DOLLARS ($60,000.00) as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing material for said demolition and clearance. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said successful bidder or bidders be, and they are hereby, required to furnish to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency in companies satisfactory to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, public liability, property damage, compensation, and other insurance in the amounts and for the purposes set forth and specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and subject to the approval of the General Counsel of the Agency as to form and sufficiency. - 3 - AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Secretary of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to make, execute and enter into, for and on behalf of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, a written contract with said successful bidder or bidders for the furnish- ing of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work, as hereinabove more particularly described for the completion of said demolition and clearance hereinabove described upon the terms and conditions as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, the specifications, and all addenda thereto, and all modifications incorporated therein prior to the date of the opening of bids, on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency and in strict accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution, and in accordance with all of the contract documents herein specified. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency this 14th day of September, 1982.
