A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY AGREEING TO PAY ALL OR PART OF THE COST
OF REHABILITATION OF THE CARNEGIE LIBRARY FOR
AN HISTORICAL MUSEUM.
WHEREAS, the Carnegie Library is a structure located at
the northwest corner of Anaheim Boulevard and Broadway; and
WHEREAS, the Carnegie Library is owned by the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to rehabilitate the
Carnegie Library for use as a public historical museum; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency is authorized
by law including, but not limited to, Section 33445 of the Health
and Safety Code to pay all or part of the cost of installation and
construction of any publicly -owned building, facility, structure
or other improvement within a redevelopment project area; and
WHEREAS, the Carnegie Library is located within the
boundaries of Redevelopment Project Area Alpha.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Anaheim
Redevelopment Agency as follows:
1. The Anaheim Redevelopment Agency hereby agrees to pay all
or part of the cost of construction and rehabilitation of the
Carnegie Library for an historical museum (the Project); provided,
however, that the maximum amount payable by the Anaheim
Redevelopment Agency shall not exceed $410,000.00.
2. The Anaheim Redevelopment Agency hereby determines that
the Project is of benefit to Project Area Alpha and the immediate
neighborhood in which the Project is located.
3. The Anaheim Redevelopment Agency hereby determines that
there is no other reasonable means of financing the Project
available to the community.
