ARA2007/09/25ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2007 The Anaheim Redevelopment Agency met in regular session in the Chambers of the Anaheim City Hall located at 200 South Anaheim Boulevard. Present: Chairman Curt Pringle, Agency Members: Lorri Galloway, Bob Hernandez, Lucille Kring and Harry Sidhu Staff Present: City Manager Dave Morgan, City Attorney Jack White, and Secretary Linda Nguyen. A copy of the agenda for the meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency was posted on September 21, 2007 on the kiosk outside City Hall. At 5:34 P.M., Chairman Pringle called the meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency to order for a joint public comment session with the Anaheim City Council and Housing Authority. ADDITIONSIDELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None PUBLIC COMMENTS: No comments offered during the joint public comment session related to the Redevelopment Agency agenda. The Agency agenda was considered at 6:13 P.M. CONSENT CALENDAR: Mayor Pringle removed Item No. 2 from the consent calendar for further discussion. Agency Member Sidhu moved to approve the balance of the consent calendar, seconded by Agency Member Kring. Roll Call vote: Ayes - 5; Chairman Pringle, Agency Members: Galloway, Hernandez, Kring and Sidhu. Noes - 0. Motion Carried 1. Approve and authorize the Agency's Executive Director to execute and administer an 4603.A agreement terminating the Disposition and Development Agreement between the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency and Andy Broumand. 3. Approve minutes of the Redevelopment Agency meeting held August 21, 2007. END OF CONSENT: 2. Approve and authorize the Agency's Executive Director to execute an Operating 4839 Agreement between the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, the City of Anaheim and The Muzeo Foundation (Related to Council Item No. 20). Terry Lowe, Community Services Director, remarked this item was on the Agency agenda as well as the Council agenda for approval of an operating agreement between the City, the Redevelopment Agency and the Muzeo Foundation. He explained the Foundation had been recently formed to support the efforts of the City in bringing a world class museum to Anaheim and this agreement stipulated the division of space within the existing Carnegie Library facility, ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2007 Page 2 of 2 as well as the new adjoining museum complex. He described which phases would be used by the City for its programs and what would be used by the Muzeo for their regional, national and international exhibits. He added the facility would still be owned by the Redevelopment Agency and its operation would be under the direction of the Community Services Department. He noted the agreement also stipulated the ability for the Muzeo foundation to have a line of credit backed by pledges in order to provide cash flow for the operation of the Muzeo for the beginning exhibits. He announced the Imperial Rome exhibit scheduled for October was expected to draw 30,000 to 40,000 visitors. Peter Kaminsky, Muzeo Executive Director, remarked the operating agreement would provide the necessary funding to carry The Muzeo's operation over the pledge period, adding the Foundation was pleased with the pledges received so far and fully expected the support to continue. Chairman Pringle commented the goal of the Foundation was to raise $3 million within the first three years and he believed that amount would be achieved. He added many members of the public were seeking to be a founding donor by contributing $5,000 or more and that there were 100 contributors in that category so far. He announced the Donor Reception was scheduled for September 27`h and the Gala Fund Raiser for October 13'h with the grand opening of The Muzeo set for October 16th. Mr. Kaminsky added the exhibition space the City had built was world class and could handle any exhibition from any place. Agency Member Sidhu encouraged the community's support remarking the cultural exhibition space would be a unique and impressive asset of the City. Motion by Agency Member Hernandez to approve Item No. 2, seconded by Agency Member Sidhu. Roll Call Vote: Ayes - 5: Chairman Pringle, Agency Members: Galloway, Hernandez, Kring and Sidhu. Noes - 0.
