Golf 2010/03/25GOLF COMMISSION MINUTES March 25, 2010 — 5:00 p.m. Anaheim Hills Golf Course — Clubhouse Board Room COMMISSIONERS PRESENT COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: CITY STAFF PRESENT VALLEY CREST ABSENT CALL TO ORDER Chairman Skip Keys Commissioner Patty Gaby Commissioner John McCulloch Commission Bud Schultz Vice Chairman Don Heinbuch Michael Lautenbach, Dave Johansen, Bob Johns and Eleanor Granflor Kevin Neal, Regional Golf Course Superintendent Chairman Keys called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None to report. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Schultz made a Motion to approve the February 25, 2010 Minutes. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Gaby. Motion passed. ACTIVITY REPORTS A. Golf Superintendent Michael Lautenbach presented his report and answered questions. Commissioner Schultz questioned who places ads on GPS system on the golf carts and the cost to lease GPS system. Michael Lautenbach stated the City owns the GPS system and golf staff are responsible for placing the ads on the GPS system. Commissioner Schultz questioned if the plans for the chipping range at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, which were developed a couple of years back, included a fence. Michael Lautenbach stated he will bring the plans and cost estimate to the next Golf Commission meeting. B. Golf Course Superintendent Dave Johansen presented his report and answered questions. Dave Johansen stated concrete will be poured at hole #10 at Dad Miller Golf Course on March 26, 2010. He also stated the 10 tee will re -open at Dad Miller Golf Course the following week. C. Director of Golf None to report. Golf Commission Minutes March 25, 2010 Page Two FINANCIAL REPORT Michael Lautenbach stated Dad Miller Golf Course flooded four times during the recent rain storms which caused a severe loss of rounds. OLD BUSINESS A. Script Cards Commissioner Schultz questioned if the script balance shows on the receipt and if a member can request a script balance from staff. Bob Johns stated the balance shows on the receipt and staff can give individuals the balance information. Bob Johns also stated new stored value cards have been received and staff is still trying to debug the new system for implementation. B. Switching of Holes at Anaheim Hills Golf Course Commissioner Gaby requested the status on switching of holes at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. Michael Lautenbach stated the starting holes were switched two weeks ago and he had only received positive comments so far. Michael stated it is still too early to tell the impacts on pace -of- play. C. The Club at Anaheim Hills Commissioner Gaby questioned the status on The Club at Anaheim Hills. Michael Lautenbach stated there are 18 paid members. NEW BUSINESS - None to report. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Gaby made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Schultz, to adjourn the meeting to April 22, 2010 at 5:00 p.m., at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, Clubhouse Board Room. The Motion passed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
