Chairman Keys called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENTS - None to report.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Schultz made a Motion to approve the March 25, 2010 Minutes. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Gaby. Motion passed.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. Golf Superintendent
Michael Lautenbach presented his report and answered questions.
Michael Lautenbach stated students from Savanna High School have been walking thru Dad Miller
Golf Course and are threatening customers. He stated vandalism also increased in the range
building. Michael Lautenbach stated the restrooms on the driving range are being locked during the
hours when students arrive and leave school. Michael Lautenbach stated a meeting with the
Anaheim Union High School district and security staff of Savanna High School will be held on April 23,
2010 to discuss these issues.
Commissioner Gaby questioned how golf staff advertises the Anaheim City Golf Championship.
Michael Lautenbach stated ads were placed in the Southland Golf Magazine and various websites.
Michael also stated e-mail blasts were sent to Golf's database and the event was promoted through
the golf shops. Commissioner Schultz questioned what the last tee time would be for the
Championship. Bob Johns stated the last tee time will be 9:30 a.m. at Dad Miller Golf Course and
10:00 a.m. at Anaheim Hills Golf Course.
Commissioner Gaby questioned if weddings have been booked at either golf course. Michael
Lautenbach stated fewer events have been scheduled and on average the groups are smaller than in
prior years.
B. Golf Course Superintendent
Dave Johansen presented his report and stated both golf courses are in very good condition.

C. Director of Golf
Bob Johns presented his report and stated both golf courses are ready for the Anaheim City Golf
Championship.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Michael Lautenbach stated revenue and rounds are still down; however, April at Anaheim Hills Golf
Course is looking better.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Short Game Facility Plans
Per a request from Commissioner Schultz, Michael Lautenbach presented the Short Game Facility
Plans at Anaheim Hills Golf Course created in 2001. Michael Lautenbach stated the cost for the
chipping green was estimated at $230,000. Michael stated another $30,000 would cover a practice
bunker by the #10 tee box.
B. Golf Course Improvement at Anaheim Hills Golf Course
Commissioner Schultz questioned if fairway renovations at Anaheim Hills Golf Course would be
feasible instead of closing down the golf course to complete an entire renovation. Michael
Lautenbach stated fairway renovations would make the golf course look better but would not address
the main issues of the golf course. Michael stated the difficult layout, blind shots, safety setbacks and
slow pace -of -play due to the difficulty of the course are the main concerns brought up by customers
and only a complete renovation will address these issues and bring more business back to the golf
course.
NEW BUSINESS
A. FY 2010 -2011 Budget
Michael Lautenbach presented the FY 2010 -2011 Budget and answered questions. Michael stated
there are no major changes to the Budget this fiscal year.
Vice Chairman Heinbuch questioned the $88,000 budget for Miscellaneous Professional Services.
Michael Lautenbach stated this was a one -time expense for a customer service survey conducted by
JD Power & Associates.
Vice Chairman Heinbuch made a motion to approve FY 2010 -2011 Budget. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Gaby. Motion passed.
B. Golf Commission Tour
Golf Commissioners decided to have the annual golf course tour at Dad Miller Golf Course in May.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Gaby made a Motion, seconded by Vice Chairman Heinbuch, to adjourn the meeting to
May 27, 2010 at 5:00 p.m., at Dad Miller Golf Course, Clubhouse Banquet Room. The Motion passed.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
