AN UNCODIFIED ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ADDING THE STADIUM SLIVER PARCEL TO
DISTRICT 5 UPON COMPLETION OF ANNEXATION
FROM THE CITY OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2021, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2021-046
requesting that the Orange County Local Agency Formation Commission (OCLAFCO) take
proceedings pursuant to the Cortese -Knox Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of
2000 for the City of Anaheim to annex a 0.35 acre sliver of property, located at the eastern edge
of the Angel Stadium Parking Lot, from the City of Orange and the Municipal Water District of
Orange County ("Stadium Sliver"), and depicted in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated
herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, on October 13, 2021, OCLAFCO approved the City of Anaheim's
boundary reorganization application for the Stadium Sliver. Orange County LAFCO is currently
in the process of recording the Certificate of Completion for the subject reorganization; and
WHEREAS, City Charter Section 500.1 divides the City into single -member districts.
District 5 extends from East Street to the west to the Santa Ana River and into the Anaheim
Canyon business area; from its northern most point at the city line with Fullerton down to the city
line with Garden Grove to the south; and, includes the Angel Stadium of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Charter Section 500.1, the Stadium Sliver shall be added
to the boundaries of District 5 upon completion of the City's annexation of the Stadium Sliver,
which will be evidenced by the recordation of a Certificate of Completion.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct.
Section 2. Upon recordation of the Certificate of Completion for the City's annexation of
the Stadium Sliver depicted in Exhibit A from the City of Orange, the Stadium Sliver shall be
added to District 5.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be printed once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a
newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, and thirty (30)
days from and after its final passage, it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
