Having lived in District 4 for 42 years in a condo, an apartment and as a homeowner 1991, I have first-hand experience with all of the special needs of each of these neighborhoods and lifestyles. As a career professional that has traveled to 169 countries, I have experienced the urban lifestyles, transportation systems, communities and cultures of so many places that enable me to bring global ideas and solutions of best practices to our community. My career in hospitality helps me to better understand the assets and challenges of our resort. I know how important it is as a tax generating source to fund our libraries, police, and fire departments as well as so many other neighborhood improvements. I appreciate the council members concentration to be on their specific district yet see the city as a whole. I believe each district has needs and assets that we need to work together to optimize. I am especially interested in the success of the ocV!be project and all that it will bring to the future of our city as a whole. As a founding member of Leadership Anaheim over 20 years ago, I believe we need to constantly be educating and recruiting the residents to know our city and volunteer opportunities better. This education process creates a passion to get involved and the city grows their resources of talented and eager generations to serve and give back. I look back and see so many successful "students" that were in that learning process serving on boards and commissions now. We need to start another program like this as soon as possible.
