List any City of Anaheim, County, and or other Board/Commissions and/or organizations on which you have
served (professional,technical, community, service):
Working full time in a California Community College, it is necessary to be of service to the college.
Since 2010 I have served as an Academic Senator for three terms, served on the District Budget
Committee for three years, participated in six full time hiring committees, chaired two tenure
committees, participated in the commencement committee and various scholarship committees.
Reasons why you are interested in serving. State your interest in the position, qualifications, skills, or experience
that can best serve the residents of District 4 and the City of Anaheim (separate attachment may be included):
My husband and I moved to Anaheim in March of 2020, moving back to Orange County, where we
had both grown up.
I decided to retire from teaching at the end of this academic year in June and have been looking
for ways to be of service to our community. When the corruption scandal broke earlier this year I
was disappointed in city leadership and believe the citizens of Anaheim deserve complete
transparency in their city government. An ethical mindset has been one of the cornerstones of my
professional life. As an auditor, one is required to be independent in appearance and in fact. One
of my key accomplishments as a professor was the development of the Ethics in Accounting course
still in demand today.
My training as a CPA and as an educator make me uniquely qualified to be part of the city council.
I am comfortable around budgets and financial statements; I am used to the rigor of analysis; I am
adept at breaking down difficult concepts into understandable pieces. Additionally, I am energized
by diverse populations and comfortable dealing with various constituencies.

What do you see as the top issues facing District 4 and the City of Anaheim? (Separate attachment may
be included):
I believe that in addition to transparency, affordable housing and homelessness and are the top
issues affecting the quality of the life for District 4 and the city of Anaheim.
Affordable housing is key for the residents of District 4 and their quality of life. It is extremely
difficult for schoolteachers, hospitality workers, retail workers and service workers to find affordable
housing in the district. Building and supplying workforce housing and services is critical.
To that end I'd like stricter enforcement of Airbnb's in the district. This type of short-term rental
destroys community, limits available housing to constituents and undermines the hospitality industry
our district is dependent upon.
The homeless situation is, of course, not unique to Anaheim, as it is pervasive across the country.
Solving issues of homelessness is not charity; it is a humanitarian issue and an economic issue. It
is ultimately less expensive to provide shelter, emergency care and mental health services to those
What are your priorities for District 4 and the City of Anaheim? (Separate attachment may be included):
Besides the three issues noted above, I am an advocate for providing quality education for our
children and making sure they never experience food or housing insecurity. I am a firm believer tha
educating our people is key for making smart decisions about our communities. I would embrace
working in conjunction with our largest employer, the Disneyland resort, in coming up with solutions
for workforce services, acknowledging and celebrating the diversity in this city, such as finally
recognizing Little Arabia as a cultural destination, and making the city more walkable and transit
friendly. I also believe that elected officials serve their constituents and should be transparent with
the people they serve. They also owe their constituents a promise to work collaboratively and in
the best interest of their district and their city.
Pursuant to Section 501 of the Charter, I am and have been a resident and qualified elector of District 4 at the
time of and for the thirty (30) days immediately preceding possible appointment to office. I declare under
penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the information contained herein is true and
o accurate to the best of my knowledge.
